For this past week my mentor John and I figured out what the Statement of work and the abstract are going to be. We emailed them to Dr. Pierce, the lead on our project, therefore she could finalize them and to make sure they are on the right path. But for work and/or training, John gave me the task to master the Bourne again shell (bash), and then to begin the start of learning GIT. To learn GIT he had me read two websites, and then gave me two tutorials that went step by step of managing a file with git. To do so I used https://try.github.io/levels/1/challenges/1, and http://nodeschool.io/#workshoppers. On Friday, we attended a training for Parallelism with the supercomputers. Our presenter was Doug James, he was good at giving us analogies for each point he was making. Such as the efficiency of using parallelism is like having people mow a lawn. Depending on the size of the yard can tell the difference of how effective the job is done. And we ended the day with giving me my next training material, that being Docker. Containerized workflow material.
