ExperienceAt the start of the ICERT research employment internees first attend the training sessions to prepare for the vigorous research that will be done for 10 weeks. The training is a multi-disciplinary brief introduction to programming languages that are primarily used on TACC's most advance super computers. Texas Advance Computing Center (TACC) research experts lead the training sessions. Student interns are paired with a mentor/researcher and at times a graduate mentor to begin their computational project. Students may also take part in seminars, training workshops, and as well as STEM outreach groups. Integrated into the REU experience are team-building exercises that will prepare the under graduate researchers for future workplaces. At the end of the journey these bright students present their final results and have a technical report along side their website to show off their hard dedicated work.
